This walk starts at the end of Mawson Street. You go up a driveway past a few houses and into the bush. Follow the track. It is a bit steep in places so moderate fitness is required. You walk through the bush and over a couple of small creeks so prob not good to do after a lot of rain. After the climb up you follow the track back down to Whites Line East. You pop out of the bush at the top of Whites Line east and follow the road down and back to Mawson Street or wherever you park your car. We usually stop at Te Whiti Park and let the dogs have a run afterwards.
The signs at the start of the track say dogs must be on lead but we let ours run free and have never had any trouble or come across anyone else with a dog on a lead.
From this track you can also branch off and climb up higher to the firebreak but this is even steeper but the views are amazing up there.
